About Us

A Seat at My Sister’s Table was founded in 2018 by co-founders, KC Wilbourn Snapp and LaTasha Weatherall in Detroit, Michigan. In what began as an organization to support women and girls of color who have been exposed to sexual and societal trauma, the organization has been on a mission to redefine education, opportunity and access to women of color across multiple modalities of life.

Our mission is to promote and foster education, opportunity and access to women and girls of color who have been exposed to sexual and societal trauma while continuing to support the health, well-being and development of distressed and at-risk populations (to include the black male in crisis and incarcerated individuals).

“Building capacity through programs has the power to catapult individuals into the best versions of themselves.”

— LaTasha, Co-Founder
